DISCOVER ARGENTINA: FROM CITY LIFE TO WILDLIFE

ITINERARY

Buenos Aires This complex and energetic city has been the gateway to Argentina for centuries. Portenos, as the multinational people of Buenos Aires are known, possess an elaborate and rich cultural identity. They value their European heritage highly and the lifestyle and architecture are markedly more European than any other in South America.
The national dance, the tango, is a fitting expression of their spirit--practiced in dance halls, parks, plazas and ballrooms- combining an elegant reserve with an exuberant passion.

DAY 1 -USA/Buenos Aires. Afternoon departure on an overnight flight to Buenos Aires.
DAY 2 -Buenos Aires. Mid-day arrival into Buenos Aires where you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel for 4 nights.
DAY 3 -Buenos Aires. Morning sightseeing will reveal the diverse neighborhoods and cultures of this exciting city.
DAY 4 -Buenos Aires. A full-day is arranged for garden visits, offering entrée into private gardens throughout the city. This evening includes a tango show in the city that invented it!

DAY 5 -Buenos Aires. Today is at leisure to explore the museum, galleries and shops of Buenos Aires. Or arrange an excursion out to the Pampas to see the true Argentinean cowboys.
DAY 6 – Buenos Aires/Puerto Iguazú/ Yacutinga Lodge. Morning flight from Buenos Aires to Iguazú. Late afternoon arrival at the Lodge for check-in and time to relax before dinner.

Yacutinga Lodge Experience

Yacutinga Lodge is more than an ecotourism undertaking in the Argentine Forest. With the biological technical support of the Fundacion Vida Silvestre Argentina (Argentine branch of the WWF) and the Fundacion Yacutinga, the goal is to provide accommodations in this private reserve without spoiling nature.
At Yacutinga Lodge, services are based on respect for the local culture, offering traditional local cuisine with international-level preparation and presentation. The majestic silence that at times dominates the forest lets one enjoy an intense sense of peace.

DAY 7 -- Early morning boating along the San Francisco stream, which flows into the Natural Reserve for a photo-safari. Back to the Lodge at midmorning for lunch.
Free time this afternoon to walk along the several self-guided interpretation trails or simply to enjoy the swimming pool, observation towers, hanging walkway and more.
DAY 8 – Yacutinga Lodge/Iguazú Falls.  Following breakfast, travel to the Sheraton  Hotel for an overnight stay at this luxurious hotel in Iguazú Falls National Park.
Iguazú Falls

Taller than Niagara Falls, twice as wide with 275 cascades spread in a horseshoe shape, Iguazú Falls are the result of a volcanic eruption which left yet another large crack in the earth. These matters of fact details do nothing to describe the grandeur of the falls, the tremendous amount of water (an average of 553 cubic feet per second) thundering down 269 feet, the tropical location and the sheer beauty that led Eleanor Roosevelt to say "Poor Niagara". Four times the width of Niagara Falls, Iguazú Falls are divided by various islands into separate waterfalls.

DAY 9 – Puerto Iguazú/Buenos Aires/USA. Morning sightseeing tour of the falls includes the train running up to the main horseshoe of the falls – the Devil’s Throat- where the roar and spray are tremendous. Afternoon return flight to Buenos Aires to catch your international flight home.
DAY 10 – USA. Morning arrival and culmination of this truly memorable journey!
